In the period from December 2015 to August 2017, students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kragujevac successfully developed their first Formula student vehicle - Zastava 17, using CATIA V5 software solution. This vehicle was presented on the world competition which has held in Gyor, a town in the north of Hungary from 17th to 20th August 2017. Competition was organized by  SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) International.

At the competition, for the proposed innovative solutions in the field of almost all used systems, the team received a special commendation from the expert commission. Clear indication of not only the production capabilities of the Student Formula FIN Kragujevac team but also the team's development capacities in several engineering areas is very small number of standard parts within the vehicle.

The members of team considered their capacities and opportunities opened during the competition and during the preparations for the competition and made the strategy of developing and improving the organization's work by setting new targets for the upcoming 2018 and 2019 years. The primary goal is team development, capacity building and long-term planning, in order to achieve greater success and realize capital projects.


In 2018, we expect to continue working on the development and improvement of the existing solutions of our student formula, the adoption of innovative solutions and the improvement of vehicle performance. After concluding of the vehicle assembling, team will be working on vehicle testing and possible modifications and corrections of it, in order to be more competitive on the next competition, in comparison with other stronger world teams. In this season, for vehicle development, the team will track trends in other teams and will be in visiting of competitions so that can successfully prepare for the 2019 season and for applying for competitions.

The planned activities depend on the financial resources that are predominantly provided by sponsors and funds, which through public tenders enable the donation of financial resources.
In order to develop the team and the activities of the organization, Student formula FIN Kragujevac will, besides the student formula, expand its activities to other projects. The Faculty possesses great development and production capacities, which enable the development of complex projects, but significantly less financially demanding, which fully enables the realization of the goals of the organization.

During the implementations of new projects, FINES will strive to creates close cooperation with companies and enterprises, in order to see their needs for future personnel. In this way projects would be realized and at the same time future engineers would be educated. It is very important to have highly educated engineers for complex industry solutions, like CATIA or SIMULIA, integrated in comprehensive business platform 3DEXPERIENCE, so they would be ready for fast integration within future companies in order to create additional value.
